Treasure Revealer

Jatson Nyingpo

1585–1656

Jatson Nyingpo was a renowned Nyingma treasure revealer and spiritual master who played a significant role in Tibetan Buddhism. He began his monastic training under Mipam Tashi Lodro and later spent 17 years in a sealed retreat, during which he revealed numerous treasures, including the Embodiment of the Precious Ones, a Guru Rinpoche sadhana that became widely practiced. He also identified Pemako as a hidden land, a sacred refuge for practitioners in degenerate times, and authored The Guidebook to the Hidden Land of Pemako. Jatson Nyingpo established the monastic center of Bangri Jokpo and taught many prominent Nyingma and Kagyu masters, influencing figures such as the Tenth Karmapa and Jamgon Kongtrul. His teachings continue to inspire practitioners across traditions.
